Christine Goerner
Christine was born and educated in Melbourne, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Communication from Monash University. After a successful career as an advertising Art Director and Graphic Designer, photography became a passion project. Now Christine is telling stories about places and nature through her photographic art.
Christine ventures into remote places to capture what is beautiful and interesting to her. Then creates art from memories of how these places make her feel – often resembling dreamscapes of nature. Deserts, lakes, rivers and forests become portals to other-worldly places that inspire contemplation and reflection.
Her abstracted landscapes may encourage you to see something you may not have noticed before – like patterns in trees, shapes of watery reflections, the texture of landforms, the mood of an arid landscape or an intense colour palette in nature. She invites you to see the beauty of nature through her eyes.
Her work has been highly-awarded through esteemed local and international art and photographic competitions. She was a finalist in Art Edit magazine’s Self-represented Art Prize and won Best of Show at Malvern Artists Society Gallery.
Christine’s work is held in private collections in Australia, the United States and Europe.
